Guides & tips
View all →Colour coding that everyone understands
A coloured label tells staff what something is before they read it: the day a batch was made, which shelf a box belongs to, which items are checked and which are on hold. That is why warehouses, kitchens, labs and offices use colour codes.
| Use | Typical set-up |
|---|---|
| Stock rotation and day-of-the-week labels | One colour per day, small rectangles on a roll |
| Warehouse zones and bins | One colour per zone, larger labels with space for a code |
| Quality control (passed, hold, reject) | Green, amber, red |
| Files and archives | One colour per year or department |
Red, yellow, green and other colours
We make coloured labels in all the popular colours: red, yellow, green, blue, orange and pink are the most requested, and other colours are available too. Tell us the colours you need and how many of each.
Paper or PP?
- Coloured paper is the economical choice for dry, indoor use, and you can write on it.
- Coloured polypropylene (PP) copes with water, the fridge and handling, so it suits food, chilled rooms and outdoor storage.
Both are available blank, so you can write or print on them yourself, or printed with your text, numbers or barcodes.
Sizes and formats
Labels are made to your size, on a roll (25, 40 or 76 mm core) or on sheets. Removable adhesive is available on request, for labels that must come off cleanly.
For small round dots in standard sizes, see our coloured dot stickers. For full-colour printed designs, see printed labels.
How to order
Tell us the colours, size, quantity, paper or PP, and whether the labels are blank or printed. You get a quote within 12 working hours.
