Direct thermal on a synthetic material
A paper thermal label creases, tears or peels when it gets wet. Polypropylene direct thermal labels keep the convenience of direct thermal – no ribbon, no ink – on a synthetic face stock that is water and tear resistant. You keep using the direct thermal printer you already have.
When to choose polypropylene thermal labels
- Goods stored or shipped in damp conditions.

- Labels that must arrive readable and in one piece at the end of the supply chain.

Do polypropylene thermal labels need a ribbon?
No. They are direct thermal labels, so your thermal printer prints them without a ribbon, just like thermal paper.
Are PP thermal labels waterproof?
Yes – polypropylene is water and tear resistant, unlike thermal paper, which softens when wet.
How do they differ from thermal transfer polypropylene labels?
Direct thermal is simpler (no ribbon). Thermal transfer gives an even more durable print for several years or harsh conditions.
