How VOID tamper evident labels work
A VOID label sticks like any other label, but when someone tries to peel it off, part of the printed layer stays on the surface and the word VOID appears. It cannot be put back without showing, so opening of a box, device or container is visible straight away. VOID labels are used as security seals on parcels, electronics, meters, cash bags and products under warranty.
Two types of security label
- VOID / tamper evident: proof of opening, with text, logo or numbering.
- Hologram: proof of authenticity, hard to copy – see hologram labels.
Both can be combined. Sequential numbering or a barcode links each seal to a product, batch or shipment.
