What is Silvermat?
Silvermat is a matt silver polypropylene in standard thickness. Its understated metallic look suits rating plates, electrical data labels, serial numbers and equipment marking – anywhere a white paper label would look fragile or out of place. Like any polypropylene, it copes with moisture and handling better than paper.
Blank or printed
- Blank on rolls: print serial numbers, barcodes and technical data yourself on a thermal transfer printer with a ribbon suited to synthetic films. See also blank roll labels.
- Printed: logo, borders, fixed text and colours printed in multi-colour UV flexo, with clear areas left for variable data on your line.
Typical uses

Is Silvermat metal?
No. It is a polypropylene film with a matt silver finish – lighter and more flexible than a metal plate, with a metallic look.
What printer do I need for blank silver labels?
A thermal transfer printer with a ribbon suitable for synthetic materials. Direct thermal printing does not work on this material.
Can you print a colour logo on Silvermat?
Yes, in multi-colour UV flexo, with blank areas if you add serial numbers or barcodes afterwards.
Are Silvermat labels water resistant?
Polypropylene handles moisture and handling well. If you have specific demands (oils, solvents, heat), describe them in your request.
