100 x 150 mm – the standard shipping label
Most shipping platforms and marketplaces create the courier label at 100 x 150 mm (often called 6x4 or 4x6) or on A4. With a thermal printer, the 100 x 150 mm roll prints a parcel label in a second, with no ink and no cutting. For small parcels or address labels we also stock 100 x 100, 100 x 80, 100 x 70 and 100 x 50 mm.
A true 4 x 6 inch label is 101.6 x 152.4 mm. 100 x 150 mm rolls run in 4x6 thermal printers with a marginally smaller print area, which courier templates fit comfortably.
Thermal roll or A4 sheet?
- Thermal roll: the choice for online sellers and warehouses shipping every day. 40 mm core, compatible with Zebra desktop printers.
- A4 sheet: for a few parcels a week on a laser or inkjet printer, with 1, 2 or 4 labels per sheet.
